Urban Youth Internships Available
 
We currently have two urban youth internships available for the Fall and Spring semesters. 
Internship 1- Jr. High
Internship 2- Sr. High
 

URBAN YOUTH INTERNSHIPS-  MINISTRY DESCRIPTION 

Vision

The Youth Interns will help oversee a ministry that encourages, inspires, and nurtures the youth of Rogers Park Baptist Church to make steps toward a deeper maturity in Christ.  The Youth Interns will help plan, coordinate, and oversee activities for the youth to promote fellowship, spiritual development, and ministry involvement. 

Objectives

The Youth Interns will help establish, implement, manage, supervise, and coordinate all aspects of youth ministries at Rogers Park Baptist Church in order to bring the youth (ages 11 to 18) to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip them to make an impact for Jesus Christ. 

Teach all youth how they can be a part of the vision of Rogers Park Baptist Church, “To make disciples for Christ,” by setting an example, providing the training and opportunities for each youth to live out the vision. 

 

Educational Requirements

Minimum of two years of college 

Principle Function

1.  Lead and develop balanced children’s educational programs of outreach.

2.  Worship,and systematic Bible instruction to pre-teens and teens ages 11 to 14 or 14 to 18.

3.  Identify the needs of members and participants who cannot attend worship services. 

Reporting

The Youth Interns report to the Pastor of Rogers Park Baptist Church. 

Character Traits, Experience, Skills

1.  Candidate exhibits strong Christian character that demonstrates a close relationship with God through personal devotional, worship, and prayer life.

2.  Candidate seeks to minister to the whole family.

3.  Candidate understands and the need to work with various youth cultures.

4.  Candidate has conceptual skills and can develop an idea into an active ministry.

5.  Candidate is enthusiastic, high energy, self-starter, encourager, and visionary.

6.  Candidate has demonstrated success at various levels of development.

7.  Candidate is comfortable sharing the Christian faith and world-view with both Christian and non-Christian youths.

8.  Candidate must agree with or affirm the churches doctrinal statement. 

Responsibilities

1.  Guides children toward total devotion to Jesus Christ though a strategy of well thought-out weekly Bible teaching, evangelism, and worship.

2.  Develop a rapport with youth and inspire them to grow in their faith and encourage them to participate in the programs and activities of our church.

3.  Develop and maintain open communication with parents.

4.  Help facilitate the recruitment and supervision of youth workers in all programs.

5.  Maintains a schedule which is approved by the Pastor.

6.  Fundraising as needed.
